The first class of the day is Leyline Origins. Ugh. Apparently, they don’t follow the standard schedule that they gave me. In school, I’m used to following the list they provide you initially, and you just do as it says. Rinse and repeat, over and over. Moni explained that following that logic, we would just turn into robots. Well, I guess we humans are nothing but damn robots. Here, you have a list but you needed to check your schedule daily to see what you had because as supes, we needed to be on our toes, so classes might change on you from day to day. Talk about a pain in the ass. At least the Specials didn’t change—if I actually get to it today.

I make my way to War Tower and trek along side a muscular woman with long dark hair in the tiniest skirt imaginable, which keeps riding up her ass. She’s been grunting and growling every few seconds, and it’s getting annoying. We’re walking down the hallway to our first class, and I’m debating asking her if she’s okay. Maybe she’s asthmatic. Can supes have asthma or any other ailments? Hmm. I should ask.

‘She’s not growling, Rez. It’s a mating call. She’s a horny bitch in heat. Yeah, baby, call those Alphas. Get that dick,’ Lynx offers up helpfully.

I roll my eyes, and a few seconds later, I stumble into the wall from Lynx yanking on my hair suddenly.

‘What the hell?’ I say. Looking up, I freeze as my jaw snaps shut. A big, burly guy is pinning the girl I was just walking with to the wall. He shoves his face into her neck before sniffing and biting at her. She seems to have no problem with his aggressive display, yanking off her top and exposing her green bra. With that out of the way, she reaches for his pants as he manhandles his hand under her skirt.

‘Yes! Rezzi, look. Free porn. It’s a live show. You can’t pay for this shit!’

I do a pivot move, back from my basketball days, thinking I’ll be all smooth and sidestep the pornstars. But no, I promptly smack into the floor.

Fuck. Laughter rings out around the hall, and I quickly scramble to pick up the book Lynx pushes towards me that I dropped.

‘Thanks, Lynx.’ I place it back into my satchel as I gather my other items, thankful I decided to wear pants today.

The laughter abruptly cuts off, and a hand reaches out to me, which I grab, grateful for the help until I see who it is. A scowl crosses my face, but I grumble out “thanks” anyway and walk past the fucking couple on the wall. I mean that literally as I continue into my classroom that’s on the other side of them with Ryker right on my heels. I pause when I catch a look at the framed picture. Damn. A gorgeous woman is staring back at me. Deep green hair rolling past her shoulders and paired with light green eyes.
